3.5 Years on... An update
3 years ago I wrote a post, the first about me and my guy and his accident.
I was *SO* nervous hitting publish. How I'd be seen, how he'd react.
Yet that post opened the doors to the biggest wave of kindness and love and support I've ever received, and in a way, that wave saved me, and him.
I can never say thank you enough no matter how many times I say it, yet if you're reading this, know it meant EVERYTHING.
And I've just added on this update, 3.5 years to the day on...
After sharing this post there was an unbelievably beautiful wave of support from friends all around the world. Some known a lifetime, some who became friends because of this post.
Kind messages poured in, they kept me/us going. They reminded me I'm not alone and didn't have to figure everything out or do this on my own. Fundraising happened, people donated towards a home for my guy, which I found for him/us after his ten months in hospital.
Those kind gifts/donations ended up being crucial over the next two years, the first year especially when my guy was almost permanently housebound due to the levels of pain he was dealing with (amongst other issues).
I am forever, FOREVER, grateful to those who were there for us during that time, you caught us when we needed it most.
3.5 years on and things aren't 'perfect', yet over the last year we've started exploring what we want our new life to look like. He went on to start his own clothing company - Can't Quit Cartel - which has had the most amazing support and formed the most awesome community, and even at times found his way back on two wheels.
Next... This year we wanna enjoy our first holiday together - it's needed 😉 - and have more fun and adventures together while building our businesses. After that, who knows, but we'll face it/enjoy it together, as we always do... ❤️❤️❤️
Your FOREVER grateful friend,
PS… The timing also of course comes as no surprise. Of course I'm reminded of this just days after I post about wanting to feel and be truly supported always.
Universe, you work in mysterious yet beautiful ways.
