LAVENDER + BEES
I had creative 'itchy fingers'. It needed to come out, to be released. Or captured, somehow.
So I grabbed my keys and camera, and headed out the door without a plan, other than to let my feet wander where they will and photograph whatever caught my eye.
Bonus: Learning how to use those damn tricky manual settings on my camera. I'm calling it a result.
THIS HAPPENED TO BE THE DAY I FELL IN LOVE WITH MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY.
...this day three or so years ago, and it's kept my heart since.
Getting up close and personal, hunting out and capturing those small yet beautiful details.
And it is all in the details. Every day, moment.
Hundreds and thousands of small, tiny details.
Put enough of the beautiful ones together, and well, you have yourself a pretty beautiful day.
AND MAKE ENOUGH OF THOSE BEAUTIFUL DAYS, IT'LL MAKE ONE PRETTY BEAUTIFUL LIFE.
At the time I lived in an area that was crammed full of rows upon rows of traditional Victorian terraced houses.
I found these guys in a huge, overgrown lavender bush in one of the front yards. Still to this day these are some of my very favourite photographs I've ever taken.
So I'll leave them here, to maybe brighten yours too...
