TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS : NEXT CHAPTERS

Quite simply, here are the most beautiful things I happened to stumble across this month. I hope you find them as beautiful and inspiring as I have...

Tiny Beautiful Things

VIDEO : WHY FINLAND HAS THE BEST EDUCATION

I stumbled across this video and Finland's refreshing approach to the education system. While I think schools across the world need to pay some serious attention to how they're doing things differently, it also made me think about how we can transfer some of their ideas into our own workplaces (and businesses) as adults.

BOOK : THE SURRENDER EXPERIMENT

A few weeks ago I was having a tough time, so a mentor I was working with at the time sent me a book, The Surrender Experiment. I think she thought I was trying to control or hang on to too much of the stuff that was either out of my control, or I just had to let go of for a while. She was probably right.

I'm about halfway through, and to be honest, when I first started reading I thought 'this isn't for me - at all', and yet I stuck with it and now I'm finding it quite beautiful to read.

PODCAST : THE RICH ROLL PODCAST

I received an email from Danielle LaPorte listing a number of podcasts she'd been on to talk about her new book. I listened to the one with her and Rich Roll and was instantly hooked. I've been downloading and devouring previous episodes since. Find his podcast here.

BLOG : WHY I STARTED FOLLOWING OLDER WOMEN ON INSTAGRAM

My (thirty something year old) body carries the heart of a girl in her twenties, and yet as I look on social media now, something feels 'off'. I'm not that girl (and never will be again). And while I've no issue with ageing, it's also made me think... What next?

So when I stumbled across this post it was everything that I needed to read. Because while it's great seeing twenty-something-year-olds living (and enjoying) their lives, I need balance, and to know what's next can be just as awesome too.

Magazine : LOVING LIFE AFTER FORTY

And while we're speaking of next stages and chapters of lives, a (very) beautiful client of mine recently launched her own online magazine - Loving Life After Forty.

The name says it all... :)

MOVIE : PASSENGERS

When my guy first mentioned this movie I was like... 'Yeah sure, whatever'... Yet it ended up being the most beautiful and meaningful movie for us.

And while I'm conscious I don't wanna give away the whole plot, the two lead characters ended up with a life they never ever would have planned - just like when me and my guy had our dream life stripped away for another we never, ever would have planned - they made it 'one heck of a (beautiful) life' anyway. Just like us.
